Qbiss by trimo is awarded the Slovenian 'Chamber of Engineers' Prize
Trebnje, 3 December 2009 − In the context of the European year of promoting creativity and innovation under the slogan »Imagine. Create. Modernize.«, which promotes a creative and innovative approach in different areas of human activities, the Slovenian Chamber of Engineers (IZS) awarded other prizes, this time for innovation in building construction. Trimo received an illustrious prize for its modular façade system, 'Qbiss by trimo'.The panel - chaired by Dr. Željko Vukelić and two further members, Dr. Janez Reflak and Andrej Povšič - had to select a winner from four contestants. The panel nominated Trimo and its modular façade system, 'Qbiss by trimo', and this nomination was confirmed by the Management Board of the Slovenian Chamber of Engineers.
According to organizers, the award is for the technical achievement of Trimo’s development group, which demonstrates the technology of robots, innovation, and an aesthetic, functional, and low-cost solution for processing, re-modelling, and assembling high quality, modular façade elements.
The award ceremony was held today in the National Gallery in Ljubljana.
The prize was accepted by Tatjana Fink, Trimo General Manager, and Tomaž Popit, Head of Product Development.
»The new modular façade system, Qbiss by trimo, demonstrates a partnership among several participants, and its results can also be seen in the demand from buyers in different countries. It is a big achievement for innovation, technology, and architecture. The prize is an acknowledgement of our effort and a welcome stimulation in the current, extremely difficult, market conditions,“ said Tatjana Fink, Trimo General Manager.
Tomaž Popit, Head of Product Development, and the manager responsible for the development of the Qbiss by trimo, added, that he had always believed in the idea and its realisation: »At present, that kind of a complex project cannot be done by only one person or one department, because it is a project which demands cooperation of a group of inter-disciplinary, united employees, in a company; and external specialists. Therefore, I receive this prize as acknowledgement of great work done with the cooperation of everyone involved and further acknowledgement that our concept of involving external partners in such a development project works successfully.
Looking back, I must say that, as well as fulfilling the technical challenges, understanding the needs of our customers and how to fulfil their needs, was equally important.
Reactions in the market show we have succeeded in doing that, which for us - as engineers - is probably the greatest award.”
