Trimo and Planet Positive

We are the first Slovenian company to acquired the Planet Positive mark for our Trimoterm products and have joined a group of prominent European companies that pay special attention to the environment. With membership in the Planet Positive Association we did not only commit to continue to develop environmentally friendly products and business systems, but to also actively support global products that create a positive balance in the field of reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Trimo and UN Global Compact
With membership in the UN Global Compact network of organisations, which was established 8 years ago at the initiative of the UN, we joined socially responsible companies, non-governmental organisations and universities, from 90 countries. The members of the UN Global Compact initiation undertake to respect the principles of human rights, work standards and responsibility to the environment in our activities.

Planet Positive is an international initiative that calls for active reduction of excessive greenhouse gas emissions causing the warming of the atmosphere. It has established international standards for measuring emissions, transparency of investments made into reducing emissions and unity of reports.

Planet Positive has complete solutions for environmental issues. Apart from reducing greenhouse gas emissions they also contribute to poverty reduction and to better social cohesion. Planet Positive finances projects on sustainable development in developing countries which would not be possible without extra financial support.

Members of the Planet Positive Association can be individuals, companies or a product that:
Measure and reduces carbon emissions below the neutral value, Financially support the chosen projects on sustainable development in the framework of Planet Positive,Raise awareness in the narrow and wider social environment of responsibility for the carbon footprint that we all leave behind with our actions

Complete emission analysis for the Trimoterm panels – Carbon footprint
In the framework of membership in the Planet Positive Association we, at Trimo, recorded the carbon emissions into the environment for the panels Trimoterm and TrimoRaster. Here we cooperated with all Trimo suppliers that made analyses for their materials, starting from raw materials to the finishing stage of the production process. With the help of these analyses we set methods for reducing carbon emissions in individual production stages.

In 2008 our efforts in the area of carbon footprint reduction paid off as the company dcarbon8 from Great Britain invited us to participate in the construction of the world’s first carbon neutral building.
The main contractor of the project managed to put together the most environmentally friendly energy supply chain. Trimo contributed to the realisation of an effective sustainable solution by supplying 3,000 m2 of façade panels.

The financial equivalent of the recorded quantity of carbon emissions made in the process from the source to the product incorporation into the building was invested into the Planet Positive Fund – which is used to finance the development of alternative energy resources and social justice around the world.

In 2008 Trimo’s project for The first carbon footprint for Trimoterm panels received the Environmental Award in the category 'International environmental partnership', which is awarded by the public Eco fund and the newspaper, Finance. Right or left column.

Calculate your own Carbon footprint
You can calculate your yearly carbon footprint on the website www.umanotera.org.
The target balanced carbon emission is 2 tons per person a year.
