Trimo Urban Crash: A multi-purpose stand for Fužine gets the nod

Slovenia, Trebnje, 25 March 2011 – The winners of Trimo Urban Crash international competition for students of architecture and design are the Polish students Wojciech Nowak from the Sylesian Faculty of Architecture, Gliwice and Martynika Bielawska from the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design, Faculty of Interior Architecture, Wroclaw. Based on the public vote on www.trimo-urbancrash.com and the expert jury decision, their concept of a multi-purpose stand was considered best. The second place went to Slovene students, while a student from New Zealand won the third place. The award ceremony and the inauguration of the building will take place in June of this year in Fužine, the biggest residential neighbourhood of the Slovenian capital.

A new 'call for applications' is commencing for Trimo's 10th annual Research Awards for the best undergraduate, specialist, and master's dissertations, and doctoral theses.

Trimo estimates a five percent growth in 2011

Trebnje, 27 December 2010 – Today we presented Trimo’s business operations in 2010 and introduced basic plans for the coming year. The income of the Trimo Group will remain on a similar level as last year. We increased sales in the company Trimo by more than 15 percent, but it will still be lower by ten percent compared to last year. In 2011 we are planning a five percent income growth for the Trimo Group. We are reinforcing the number of employees in the Sales and Project Management Departments. We invested 5.7 million Euro in technological solutions.

Trimo Urban Crash - Almost 1500 individuals from more than 80 countries are already registered

Ljubljana, 7th December – The Trimo Urban Crash competition, which will stay open for less than 2 months, calls for students of architecture and design to activate their creative cells and imagine an original urban installation that will have a public purpose. The idea will become a reality by Trimo at the selected location in the residential neighbourhood, Nove Fužine, in the capital of Slovenia. So far, almost 1500 interested individuals from more than 80 different countries around the world have already registered on the Trimo Urban Crash website. This is three times more than in the same period in 2008.

What are the jury's expectations regarding Trimo Urban Crash? Students should present something new and not be naive.

ArtMe receives Red Dot Product Design Award 2010 – One of the most prestigious design awards in the world and the only one from the field of fireproofed roofs and façades

Essen / Germany, 6th July 2010 - Trimo developed ArtMe, a new way of individually designing the surfaces of façade cladding that won the prestigious Red Dot Product Design Award. This makes ArtMe the only product from the field of fireproofed roofs and façades to receive this award. ArtMe was selected out of 4,252 applied projects from 57 countries. Consequently, ArtMe was one of 7 Slovenian products to receive the Red Dot Award. Trimo’s representatives accepted the award at a ceremony in honour of the winners, held yesterday at the Opera House Aalto-Teater, in Essen, Germany.

Trimo gives 60 awards to the best within the scope of their research awards

Trimo’s 11th Community Day: We participated in the campaign “Let’s clean Slovenia in a day!”

Trebnje, 17 April – Today Trimo combined the 11th Community Day with the all-Slovenian “Let’s clean Slovenia in a day!” cleaning campaign. Around 80 employees of the Slovene section of the Trimo Group, and their families, joined the campaign and cleaned the Trebnje area, altogether collecting 28 cubic metres of waste or, in other words, they cleaned 5 waste dumping grounds.

Trebnje, Slovenia, 28th December 2009 – Trimo held its 7th anonymous competition, the Craziest Idea, aimed at encouraging employees and scholars to think unconventionally, from which the most creative and innovative ideas were awarded. This time 3 creators of ideas were awarded; Head of Business Excellence, Polona Briški, for “Trimopedia”; architect Ljudmila Koprivec, for development of the “Woven façade”; and a third unknown creator - who is, according to committee members, part of a Trimo subsidiary abroad - for the idea “an Insulated daylight façade element.” The 3 creators will be awarded with a 3-day survival course. This year we have received fewer ideas than in previous years, but so far employees have proposed over 300 ideas.

Trebnje, 21 December 2009 – At the traditional Xmas meeting of Trimo employees last Saturday we awarded recognitions to Best employees of 2009, and the authors of the boldest ideas - and this time Trimo awarded them with a 3-day survival course. TrimoDesigner Win 2.0 - Software for 3D visualization of a building

Trebnje,11th December 2009 – Together with the company, CGS, d.o.o. Trimo has developed new (improved) software for 3D visualization of buildings. Trimo TDW 2.0 (TrimoDesigner Win) is a simple, software application, for the illustration and specification of Trimo façade covers and roofs. It is intended for customers, architects, and project leaders, as it allows for fast and simple design of building models, placing the building in a simulated environment, and physical representation of the building using 3D images.

Ljubljana, 1 December 2009 − On the occasion of the 4th Slovenian Innovation Forum (SFI), Slovenian Economy Minister, Matej Lahovnik, and Manager of JAPTI, Igor Plestenjak, presented awards for the best three Slovenian innovations. Trebnje, 27th November – On Tuesday and Wednesday, 1st and 2nd of December 2009, the 4th Slovenian Innovation Forum will be taking place at the Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre. Trebnje, 27 October 2009 – In May 2009, Trimo became the first producer in the world to start regularly labelling building sandwich panels with a 'CE' mark - according to the control system, 1 or 3. The marking system was adapted and well-received in most EU countries.

Trimo receives Certification as an Authorised Economic Operator

Trebnje, 21 September 2009 – Trimo received Certification as an Authorised Economic Operator (following AEO) in June. Because of this certification, we are now one of 18 companies in Slovenia with this certification, and the second one in the Dolenjska region. Today the Director of the Customs Office, Ljubljana, Zoran Taljat, officially handed us the AOE certificate at a meeting in Trimo.

Brezovica kindergartens to receive more children – The first modular kindergarten in Slovenia is opened in Podpeč

Brezovica, 20 August 2009 – The Municipality of Brezovica today opened 5 new departments within the new extension to Podpeč Kindergarten, which provides additional room for 75 children. Kindergartens made of modular units are an established practice of solving the issue of room shortage abroad, whereas the Podpeč Kindergarten, in Brezovica near Ljubljana, is the first kindergarten of this kind in Slovenia. It was built by Trimo. The investment of enlarging the existing kindergarten with modular units is worth slightly above 370,000 Euros.

Trimo receives the award 'HORUS' for its social responsibility

Trebnje, 8 June 2009 − The Institute for Development of Social Responsibility (IRDO), last week, in cooperation with the Slovenian Association for Public Relations (PRRS), awarded the Slovenian prizes, known as the HORUS prizes, for Social Responsibility. The specialist committee has, within the framework of the project, awarded three prizes in the categories for small, medium, and large businesses. Trimo receives the award in the category 'large business'.

Trimo Architectural Days 2009

Ljubljana, 5 June 2009 – Yesterday Trimo held the official granting of International Trimo Architectural Awards (TAN) and International Trimo Urban Crash awards (TUC), which took place at the Old Power Station in Ljubljana. Urban Ljubljana to be energized with a Polish architectural proposal

Trebnje, April 7th 2009 - Trimo is both proud and excited to announce the winners of the Trimo Urban Crash international competition for students of architecture are Jan Ledwon and Alicja Chola from Poland. With 564 public votes (from visitors to the www.trimo-urbancrash.com website) and a unanimous decision by the expert jury, their proposal for a cultural stage has been chosen for realisation in the Slovenian capital of Ljubljana. The second and third place awards go to Slovenian and Italian architecture students. The opening event will take place in Metelkova mesto during the biennial Trimo architecture days between June 4th and 6th, 2009.

Trimo Urban Crash - Jury selected 19 projects - Now it's the public's turn

March 16 marked the beginning of voting for the best student architectural project-solution that will energise Metelkova City in Slovenia's capital Ljubljana. Until April 6, visitors to the www.trimo-urbancrash.com website can rate the 19 short-listed projects, selected from among all 147 submitted projects by the international nine-member expert jury. The winning solution will be realised on location this summer.

Trebnje, 28 January – We are now organising competition entries for the 8th Trimo Research Awards. Under the slogan “SHARE YOUR KNOWLEDGE – ENTER COMPETITION”, Trimo will award the best submissions of dissertations and theses received from Undergraduates, Masters, Specialists, and PhDs, successfully evaluated by the appropriate faculty committees or vocational colleges, between 1 January and 31 December, 2008. Trebnje, 27 January 2009 – In the past week Trimo’s General Manager, Tatjana Fink, attended the international strategic conference of the German company, Harting. At the invitation of the company’s owners, Mrs Margrit and Mr Dietmar Harting, she gave a lecture on her leadership experience. With the 'boldest idea' into the Formula 1

Trebnje, 20 December 2008 – Trimo awarded the most original and innovative idea, selected on an anonymous contest that has been organised for six years in a row. The award was presented to Maja Mujdrica, working in the section of Design and R&D, for her idea of developing an anti-corrosion implant. The award for her idea is riding a real Formula 1 car on a racetrack in the United Kingdom. This year the contest, whose aim is to encourage unconventional thinking of the staff, recorded 65 ideas. So far, more than 300 ideas have been contributed at the 'Boldest idea' contest.
